Procession                                                 Artist Statement

This body of work was inspired by recent trips to Europe and the recognition that develops of ones’ own context within that rich historical landscape.

 An awareness of the others that journey with you through the days of your own life and the symbolic ancestors that have walked the path before. These forebears being closer to the essence, the simplicity of lifes existence and with a strong spiritual bond with others, the earth, animals and the arts within the procession of time.

 These etchings and monotypes explore human identity and play with the notion of the procession and the ritual of performance within another culture.

Procession is a forward movement with a group of others considered as a whole.
